What's new: samples in tune, sharper search, better mixing

We opened the Early Access Preview two weeks ago and followed up with library search, grooves, and the Arrangement a week later. Here’s what changed since then.

Samples now land in tune

Load a one-shot into a Simpler or Sampler and it plays in tune, as long as its filename states the note. Ask for a Sampler by name and Dawbrain loads it there directly.

Search finds folders and files

Ask Dawbrain to find a folder, like “find my Zenhiser folder,” and it hands you the match directly. Once a folder’s in view, it stays in view: say “load a kick,” then “load a bass,” and both pull from that same place automatically. Search understands pack and source filters, such as “loops from my trap packs,” and multi-word descriptions, such as “dusty vinyl-crackle break.” It also browses large folders smoothly.

Drum templates got re-sourced, basslines got more musical

Trap, boom-bap, deep house, garage 2-step, bossa nova, reggae one-drop, jazz swing, and drum & bass (now with jungle, liquid, neurofunk, jump-up, and halftime as separate flavors) were all re-sourced against real reference tracks. Some drum patterns can now span multiple bars, so a clave or a breakbeat plays out in full. Basslines respect the register you ask for, stay in the project’s key, and density controls how busy the line is.

Mixing is faster and more reliable

Adjusting a mix now takes fewer steps, and a parameter-setting bug that silently wrote the wrong value is fixed, so what you hear matches what you asked for.
